Acceptable Use & Prohibited Items

Firebid is a community marketplace for everyday Australians. To keep it safe and legal, all members agree to these rules in addition to our Terms & Conditions.

1. Prohibited items

You may not list, offer, or solicit:

Firearms, ammunition, prohibited weapons, explosives, or replicas regulated under state law.
Illicit drugs, prescription medicines, or drug paraphernalia.
Tobacco, vaping products, or alcohol (sale of these requires a licence we don't verify).
Live animals or regulated wildlife, ivory, or protected flora/fauna products.
Stolen, counterfeit, or replica branded goods.
Recalled products, unsafe goods, or items banned by the ACCC.
Hazardous materials, asbestos, or items requiring special handling.
Human remains, body parts, or bodily fluids.
Adult/pornographic material, sexual services, or used intimate items.
Government IDs, passports, licences, or items used to commit fraud.
Goods that infringe a third party's intellectual property — see our IP & reporting policy.
Services, digital downloads, NFTs, cryptocurrencies, or financial products.
Anything illegal under Commonwealth, State, or Territory law.

2. Prohibited conduct

Shill bidding, bid manipulation, or coordinating with other members to inflate prices.
Off-platform deal switching, fee avoidance, or directing buyers off Firebid mid-listing.
Harassment, threats, hate speech, or discrimination toward other members.
Scraping, automated bidding bots, or interfering with the service.
Creating multiple accounts to evade limits, bans, or paid membership.
Posting personal information of others, doxxing, or impersonation.
Spam, unsolicited marketing, or repeatedly relisting removed items.

3. Listing standards

Photos must be of the actual item — no stock images for used goods.
Describe defects honestly. Misrepresentation is grounds for removal.
Set a fair reserve and start price. No bait-and-switch.
Categorise listings correctly and use relevant keywords only.

4. Safety

Meet in public, inspect items before paying, and prefer bank transfer or cash on collection. Firebid does not handle payments or guarantee transactions.

5. Enforcement

We may remove listings, suspend, or permanently ban accounts that breach these rules, with or without notice, and may report serious matters to law enforcement. Membership fees for the period of suspension are not refundable where the breach is the cause.

6. Reporting

See something that doesn't belong? Report it via the listing's "Report" button or our contact page. IP infringement reports go to our reporting page.
